Experience the extraordinary – embark on a journey into the heart of crocodile territory with our “Jumping Crocodile Cruise.” It’s a Northern Territory must-do, an immersion into nature’s most formidable creatures.
Our intimate tours, designed with families in mind, accommodate just 30 passengers and set sail four times daily during the dry season.
Prepare for a jaw-dropping hour as you come face to face with our resident crocodiles, each one a legend in its own right. Dominator and Brutus, titans of the river, approximately six meters in length, commanding awe and respect. But that’s not all – as your boat glides through this untamed wilderness, majestic birds of prey, including Black Kites, White Breasted Sea Eagles, and sometimes even beautiful Kingfishers, put on breathtaking aerial displays.

Adelaide River Cruises jumping crocs tour begins with a safety briefing where our guides will provide important information about the behaviour of the crocodiles and the rules to follow during the tour.
Once that’s completed, you’ll embark on a journey along the Adelaide River, where the crocodiles are known to frequent. Our guides will share their knowledge about crocodile biology, behaviour, and conservation efforts while keeping a keen eye out for any signs of crocodile activity. They have a deep understanding of the crocodiles’ habits and can predict where they are likely to surface, allowing you to witness these incredible creatures up close.
Throughout the tour, you’ll have ample opportunities to take photos and videos of the crocodiles in action. Just make sure to follow the guidelines provided by the tour guides to ensure both your safety and the well-being of the crocodiles.

The jumping actions of crocodiles is a hunting technique known as “porpoising.” It allows them to surprise and catch their prey, which often includes birds flying low over the water or other smaller animals near the riverbank. This display of agility and power is a testament to the incredible adaptations these reptiles have developed over millions of years.
But witnessing jumping crocodiles is not just about the thrill of the moment. It’s also an opportunity to learn about these incredible creatures and the conservation efforts in place to protect them. You will be provided with fascinating insights into the biology, behaviour, and conservation status of crocodiles, allowing you to develop a deeper appreciation for their role in the ecosystem.

Safety is of utmost importance during the Adelaide River Jumping Crocs experience and we begin each tour with an easy to follow safety briefing. . Our tour operators have implemented strict safety measures to ensure that both visitors and crocodiles are protected.
The boats used for the tour are specially designed to keep you at a safe distance from the crocodiles while still allowing for an exciting up-close encounter. Our tour is suitable for all age groups.
Infants 12 months and under are free of charge if they are sitting on the lap of a parent or guardian. Should they require a seat they are required to hold a child ticket. Please indicate if you have an infant with you.

1. Take the Stuart Highway out of Darwin and follow signs for Kakadu National Park.- Turn left onto the Arnhem Highway (signposted to Kakadu National Park).
- Turn left at Anzac Parade and follow the Crocodile Cruise signs all the way to the end of Anzac Parade.
We recommend downloading Google Maps for offline mode due to reception coverage in the area.
